Of Big Banks and Men going through Menopause.

So this is how my blog is going to be. I will read stories and do some sort of compilation of those stories that catch my eye. Ok, random fact, at some point I thought I’d be a journalist, of course I did not make the cut, or I gave up (refer to my love affair with giving up too soon). Then I thought I’d be a lawyer, and yes you guessed it right, I gave up too soon. So now, I am in some profession that I probably wasn’t meant to be in, but that is not something special, especially in a third world country in sub-Saharan Africa. I will try and make the best out of it though. Anyway, enough about me and on to what brought us here.

Today, I have read 8 articles already.Ok, as the title reads, has something to do with big banks and men going through menopause. Yes, I was also surprised that men go through menopause. You probably knew that, but I did not know. Apparently it is called andropause, and affects men over 50 or something, they also referred it to as mid-life crisis. I knew about mid-life crisis before, but I did not know that it had a scientific name. Scientists must be an idle lot, consensus here?  Anyway, here is the link for the original piece http://www.businessdailyafrica.com/Men++too++go+through+menopause+/-/1248928/1458044/-/bo3de8/-/index.html.

There must be something about banks hence the title, so here it goes. I don’t know much about banks, economies, money e.t.c, but I have read quite a bit about it and have come to the conclusion that somebody must be screwing us or we simply are too naive, Sometimes ago, banks in the USA started collapsing, oh, and by the way(I originally typed btw, but I am trying to keep it a bit official here) have any banks in Kenya collapsed, because I can’t seem to remember any. Anyway, the article is written by one, Sunny Bindra, who is a man I  like and admire, though some of the words used in the article are a bit complex, its a fairly easy read and also very informative. Now that I am on the Men business, I came across a huge heading that read ‘What is wrong with Men nowadays’, Of course, curiosity got the better of me but on reading it, same old problem of gender blaming the other gender for its problems. Yaaawn, but it will probably be a good read for some of you. Here is the link http://www.nation.co.ke/Features/DN2/Whats+wrong+with+men++nowadays/-/957860/1460722/-/we4954z/-/index.html

Through this blog, you will get to know some writers/authors I like. It is a coincidence that I chose to write this article on a Monday morning, and Waga Odongo’s has a column on monday. Yes, I like how Waga Odongo writes. I love his columns though sometimes he uses very complex words that require one to acquire the services of a dictionary, and sometimes I don’t have the time to. Today, he chose to talk about Orengo’s purported Ksh 500,000  suit, He also ask’s this question. Must boys embrace the suit to become men? Must they, So I need a suit? I recently discarded 2 ‘Mushaino’ suits I had made for a wedding of a friend of mine and a funeral. I never wore them again after the occasion it was intended for. So you are telling me I need to get a suit. Here is the article http://www.nation.co.ke/Features/DN2/Leave+Orengo+alone+a+suit+is+the+culmination+of+power+/-/957860/1460720/-/item/1/-/949366z/-/index.html

Ok, thats it for now. I will definately be back. I ain’t quitting.
